About Us

I have always enjoyed working with my hands and helping other people with home repairs and other related services they need. I find fulfillment in seeing all the happy, grateful faces after completed repairs are delivered. Knowing my customers are pleased with the services rendered makes it all worthwhile.
In 1978, while still in high school, I began working on roofs under a well-respected roofing company. There I developed a love for the craft and devoted my time and effort into learning as much as I can about roof repair, replacement and installation. As someone who loves challenging himself to be better each day, I pushed myself as hard as I can to develop the knowledge and skills needed to excel at my craft. With each roofing project I worked on, I strove hard to get better and better. After many years of working on various roofing projects in both commercial and residential settings, I knew it was time to set out and establish my own company and my own brand of outstanding roofing services. I wanted to present a better option for home owners and small business owners who want to get the best value for their money on all their roof repair and installation needs.

John M. Neff Roofing Company is my way of providing top-notch roofing services at honest, fair prices. Serving the needs of customers throughout the local areas of North Shore, John M. Neff Roofing Company has established a solid reputation as the premier roofing contractor Glenview IL folks trust.

  2. Several years ago we needed a new roof. Several of our neighbors had used Neff Roofing and were very pleased with their work.
John showed us several tile samples. Since we have a very high pitched roof we wanted roof tiles with texture, so John gave us the addresses of some houses with similar roofs, so we could see different roofing styles.
We are very pleased with the results, and have had many compliments.
This winter when it was so windy, we lost a few roof tiles. We called John, and since February was so warm, he immediately repaired the damage for a nominal cost.
Jim and I would definitely recommend Neff Roofing, and plan to use them again when it is time for a new roof.

  3. "We were first introduced to John and his fine work when he was the roofing contractor for a major addition to our home 30 years ago.
Since that time, John has done other projects for us, including a new roof on a second addition and occasional repair work over the years.
Recently, John re-roofed our entire home. We have always been impressed by his integrity, high standards, quality materials, skilled workers and fair prices."

  4. "My job involved a large complex addition. The project involved demolition and new construction, with slate to match an existing roof dating to 1930. The roof was random width, random thickness, graduated exposure. The variation was so great that some slates weighed ounces while others weighed 30 pounds or more. When I interviewed some of the most well known slate roofers in Chicago, I was told it could not be done. They said tear off and start over or change roofing materials.
When John Neff viewed the project he was able to source my roofing slate back to the original quarry in Vermont. John also found the only firm that had the unique tooling to match the original copper gutters. John removed a large quantity slate from part of the project to be demolished and blended new with old to create a seamless transition. John did a terrific job on the entire project in a timely fashion. I have been told by other roofing professionals that what John and his team accomplished was nearly impossible. Job well done on a most difficult project."
